Our world today has changed a great deal with the aid of IT which has penetrated almost every aspect of our daily lives and society, from leisure to business. IT has become a part of our day-to-day lives through the evident use of PC's, Internet, cell phones, faxes, the list provide benefits to our future generations, just as it has greatly benefited ours.

My Profession

Education is the priceless thing that everyone could have but due of poverty, many families can’t afford to send their child to the school because of high matriculation and their financial support is not enough for their daily needs. Last summer, I became a volunteer teacher for Summer Kindergarten Program of our place. There I met the first batch of my students, they all came from different families, but despite of individual differences, I see through their eyes the same desires to learn.

                                        

As a future teacher, teaching them is the most wonderful experience that I have during my summer vacation. I miss those kids a lot, because being with them, I’ ve learned that teaching profession is not that easy, it is not just about imparting your knowledge to every student everyday but also how will you become an effective mentor to them, who will serve as their guide and molder to become a better person in the near future.

Through the inspiring experience of mine, I then realized that teaching profession is the most special professions because here, you teach the future professionals that someday may become one of the most effective leaders in future. At first, teaching is not my profession, I’ve dreamed of  a white collar job, so I chose carefully to the course that I will take, but my destined is to become a teacher, which profession that I will always cherish all my life because with my students I feel the incomparable happiness and success.

Way to Success: The Students' Personal Essay about College Life

College life' is the phase in one's life when one learns the most important lessons of his/her life. It is for the first time in college when an individual left to himself to make his own decisions. It is the time for him to give importance and maintain the good and healthy relations with the people around him. College life is the most terrific experiences that one might face. It is full of challenges that challenge not only their academic skills but also their hope and determination to success. Challenges can make them weak or strong, but it is up to them if they will win or loose. It gives a lesson that they will brought as their march for the future life. However, what is the sense of pursuing these challenges if it is just a headache? Why do the students need to overcome these challenges for them to become successful in their life? Does the professor just give this type of test just to give burden? If you are the student experiencing challenges, will treat it as gift or curse?  

Many students enter college expecting good times, knowledge, friendships, and a new sense of direction. They soon find out that college comes with challenges and struggles because of the great demands and expectations that have a great importance in education. College students experience a great deal of stress, especially when they are trying to balance a full time job, raise children, and have a social life. The demands of doing many different things with very little time can become overwhelming. In college, students experience sleepless nights, rushed school works, critical thinking in doing projects and wise management of their time for each subject matter. The students also sometimes encounter failing grades, which means they have to strive for more, focused more and do their best to achieve their goal in life. Another challenging part of the students is the division of their time; some of the students are working students for them to send in college. They work so hard, which is another burden because they need to manage their time in work and doing their school works plus attending in their class. Other situation of the college students that challenge their ability and determination is raising their children; we all know that some of the college students now are both student and parents. They did their best to have a college degree for them to give a better life for their children.  

Due to different situation brought by the challenges beyond college life, some of the students treat it as curse. Curse, in terms of shameful, as the matter of fact, many student lost their interest in their study when they have a failing grades. They thought that they lost their chance to finish their dreams to become successful. And because of lack self confidence to overcome this kind of burden, they started to quit on attending class and just hang out and seek for happiness in night life. While on the other hand, some students treat it as a trash that nothing to do with them except for their parents’ dream. Most of the students who lost their interest in education are those students who are afraid to do so and have no goals to achieve, so for them to escape, they kept on throwing their opportunity to have a better life by focusing to the other things. However, not all the students are all the same, students that were raised by a poor family, gave importance in education, they treat college as a gift. For them, graduating and having their diplomas are the small evidence that even though they don’t have a luxury cars, and a very huge house, they can achieved it through the use of the knowledge that they have gained during their college life. They can face even the highest and the richest person in the top of the world with their intelligence and high morale that been enhanced through their tertiary days. People may judge easily their fellow men through physical appearance and financial status but can’t discriminate the people that become successful by it’s own abilities and determination.

College is really a challenge, because this is the stage of life where the students started to enhance their patience and capacities to do work in a specific time. This is also the time of their life where they become more responsible and considerate to other things around them. As one of the college students, I myself claim that college is challenge, because this is the point of my life where I have learned different things that may help me to become a better person. Here, I started to draw my goals. Pursue my dreams and do my best to become a valuable educator for future professionals. College tests not only my abilities but also my hope and strength. It gave me headaches and pain, because I have my different duties to accomplish, but even though it tests me a lot, it is still not enough for me to lose my beliefs. Beliefs that one day I will be recognize not because of my money but because of my abilities. I may not be alumni in the most prestigious universities but I will manage to keep my feet on the ground. I will fulfill my dreams and give everything just to become a professional educator.

Challenges in college are both gift and curse. Curse because it gives us pain, but behind those scars, it left us unforgettable lesson that taught us a very meaningful message. Curse in terms of even though we experience a lot of trouble we still holding on and did not escape but instead facing it because even though it is hard we still seeking for a solution to accomplishment. Gift because it is the priceless prosperity, which our parents trying to give to us. It is gift, because it our training so that we be ready in future that was waiting for us. College is the challenge that God gave to us to test our strength, trust to Him. That we are strong enough, and we believe to His words that He will not forsake us when we called His name and ask for some guidance. Failures sometimes make us weak, but it is just a simple reminder that we did not give our best. One should learned that whatever is test that come to their life, that test their beliefs they must hold on and do their best and let the God do the rest.
